MISSION STATEMENT
To provide a framework for all youth between the ages of 13 and 19 years to gain knowledge and work skills and the strategies necessary for the successful transition between school and their chosen careers by the way of the Career Advice Australia programs.
LOCAL COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS
Local Community Partnerships are non-profit community-based organisations that help all 13 to 19 year olds to get the skills, experience and professional guidance they need to make a successful transition through school and onto further education, training and employment. There are 213 Local Community Partnership service regions across Australia. Local Community Partnerships link with industry and employer groups, schools, professional career advisers, community organisation, parents, young people, youth service providers and other government organisations to provide career development and transition programs. |

Whitsunday School Industry Links Scheme Inc (WSILS) recently entered the prestigious Annual Whitsunday Tourism Awards. The Tourism Awards are held in order to recognise and reward local businesses who play a major role in determining the future growth of the community. The decision to enter the awards in the Category of Non Profit Organisation/Education was to raise WSILS's profile and showcase our business success to a wide variety of Industry involved in the event.
In the past 2 years WSILS have facilitated the development of quality, sustainable education programs and will continue to support the youth of the region through 2009.
WSILS are the Local Community Partnership (LCP) covering the Whitsunday, Central Highland and selected Mackay Regions. WSILS work with school, parents, businesses and community organisations to help young people aged 13-19 years to make a successful transition from school to work under the Careers Advice Australia initiative funded by the Australian Government.
